Factor 55?s XTV Hawse Fairleads are exceptionally durable and help extend the life of your synthetic rope. They?re CNC machined from 1?-thick USA 6000 series aluminum bar?twice as thick as the industry standard. The extra-thick aluminum bar design gives a larger radius for synthetic rope to slide against, which means less wear and tear on the rope resulting in a longer service life. These fairleads wear a super-durable MIL-A-8625F TYPE III gunmetal gray hard-anodized finish with a laser engraved logo. This finish is, hands down, the best choice for a hawse fairlead. The finish leaves a .002?-thick Al2O3 ceramic coating that is in the top-five hardest materials known to mankind (not far away from diamond hardness).

Always confirm that the synthetic rope cannot make contact to any sharp edges like the opening in the steel fairlead mounting plate or bumper opening. In some cases it may be required to grind this slot larger. Always sand and deburr this opening after any grinding operation.
