- Titanium knitted sleeves from Design Engineering, Inc. are a convenient way to buffer hot exhaust pipes, protect vehicle components, and prevent heat from interacting painfully or uncomfortably with skin and vehicle interiors. They are available in different precut lengths (PN 10038 is 12” long and designed to fit 4” OD tubes) and by the foot, with a maximum temperature rating of 1,800°F (1,382°F continuous). DEI designed its titanium knitted sleeves to expand up to 1.5 times their normal diameter, allowing them to install over flanges and sensor threads. The thick basalt sleeves can easily be trimmed to size and rolled at the ends. Include locking ties and an installation tool.
